The Trust's Chief Executive, Neil Macdonald, wrote to say “a massive thank you” to frontline medical, nursing, midwifery and therapy staff, to support services staff including admin teams, IT support teams, procurement teams, suppliers, HR and cleaning and catering staff.

Mr Macdonald also extended his thanks to BHT partners working in adult health and social care, paramedic partners in the ambulance service and to all regional partners in neighbouring trusts who are sharing resources and expertise.

Neil Macdonald said: “Everyone is throwing everything they have into this effort and we are incredibly proud of the response of everyone at BHT.”

Last night the Government called for an army of 250,000 volunteers to help support the NHS in this time of crisis. Incredibly, 170,000 have signed up overnight.

BHT confirmed that they will need volunteers and are assembling a team to manage this. More information will be provided in the coming days for those who wish to volunteer.

They have already setup a mailbox to coordinate offers of food and gifts to support NHS staff. Please write to: [email protected].
