“It is with great sadness that we must announce the death of Councillor Phanindar Koya, who passed away on Wednesday 4 November 2026,” the council said in a statement to The Bucks Herald.

"Phanindar’ s passing has come as a great shock to all his friends and colleagues at the Town Council and in the community which he served as a Councillor for Aylesbury Town Council.

“Phanindar was first elected to the Town Council in May 2021 for the Gatehouse Ward and has served on the Direct Services Committee as well as representing the Town Council on the Aylesbury Community Board.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Phanindar’ s family at this sad time.”

Councillor Koya’s profile on both the Aylesbury Town Council and Buckinghamshire Council websites has been removed, so The Bucks Herald has elected not to publish his picture until such a time as his family permits us to do so.
