Rock Choir from Buckinghamshire support runners at Ovar-Dressed London fundraiser
Rock Choir Members performed at a charity event in Regent’s Park in London on Sunday 27th September, which raised more than £54,500 for Target Ovarian Cancer.

The Ovar-Dressed flagship event in Regent’s Park welcomed fundraisers from across the capital and beyond to step out in style for everyone affected by the disease. Participants were invited to walk, jog or race a 5km or 10km to raise funds for the charity’s work. Target Ovarian Cancer helps women get a diagnosis earlier and faster, get the best treatment and care wherever they live, and receive support at every step. Everyone taking part was invited to get ‘ovar-dressed’ on the day, wearing anything from a suit, to a colourful outfit or a hat.
Rock Choir, the award-winning and pioneering contemporary choir experience in the UK and Ireland, is well-known for its fundraising efforts to support both local and national charities. Supporting organisations and charities in each local community in which Rock Choir is located, is a key part of its culture and ethos.
Rockies from choirs in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, London and Kent performed on the day as entrants registered for the fundraiser.
Rock Choir Leader Liz Shea said: “Everyone really enjoyed the sense of camaraderie on the day. We sang ‘Space Man’, ‘Sweet Child O Mine’ and ‘Somewhere Only We Know’.
We’ve got an ongoing relationship with Target Ovarian Cancer. On the day a few people who were taking part shared their experiences of being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It was all about raising awareness of the disease.”
Helen Slee, Target Ovarian Cancer’s Head of Public Fundraising, said: “We are so grateful to the Rock Choir members who sang at our recent Ovar-Dressed London event, helping to create a wonderful experience for participants and their cheer squads. Ovar-Dressed raised more than £54,500 for our charity, which will support our efforts to stop ovarian cancer from devastating lives across the UK.”
