Farm launches Home Ed days this autumn
A Bucks-based farm aims to bring learning to life with the launch of its Home Educator Days this autumn.

Odds Farm Park, near Beaconsfield, kicks off a series of dedicated days for home educating families and groups on Thursday 10 September.
The five dates from September to November are geared up for children learning in a home-based educational setting. Each full day is packed with outdoor learning plus optional interactive sessions in English and Maths.

Louise Winslow, assistant general manager at Odds Farm Parks, says: “We have so much to explore and learn about here at the farm that we wanted to share it with home learning families and create an event that gives them the chance to meet up.”
The 35 acre rare breeds farm gives families and groups the opportunity to learn about the animals with learning resources as well as an exclusive farmer talk.
Louise adds: “We have goats, sheep, cows, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens here at Odds, many of which are rare and unusual breeds.
“Our educational activity sheets are produced to help families get the most out of their visit. They focus on animal features, habitats and life cycles while everything is brought to life by our experienced farmers who will provide our guests with fun facts and interesting stories about our rare breed farm animals.”
The outdoor learning is complemented by optional, interactive English and Maths workshops led by experienced facilitators.
Visitors will also be able to make the most of the outside space with outdoor adventure play and the chance to get up close to the animals on the tractor and trailer ride.
Louise adds: “We’ve had four new highland calves born at the farm over the summer so visitors will be able to meet them in the paddocks throughout September and October and learn more about the breed on our informative tractor rides.”
The low-pressure day includes a dedicated group space in the farm’s Craft Barn for breaks and connection throughout the day. After the farmer’s talk, families are welcome to stay and explore the farm at their own pace or continue with the group.
Home Educator Days at Odds take place on Thursdays 10th, 17th and 24th September, Thursday 15th October and Thursday 12th November from 10am – 5.30pm. To keep each session as relaxed as possible places are limited to 40 guests and pre-booking is essential.
Prices start at £10.00 for adults and children up to 15 years. Children aged 12 – 23 months are £4.95 and babies under 12 months are free of charge.
