Rail operator offering free travel for veterans and military personnel from Aylesbury Station to attend Remembrance events
Chiltern Railways has announced it is offering free travel for veterans and military personnel on services through Aylesbury Station to attend Remembrance events.
The rail operator says that serving military personnel and veterans travelling to London to attend Remembrance services can travel free of charge on its trains into London Marylebone on Saturday 7 or Sunday 8 November.
Free return travel from London is also available on November 8 only.
The offer is available to serving military personnel in uniform, or in possession of a current MOD90 Ministry of Defence-issued identity card.

Veterans can show a Veterans Railcard, Veterans Oyster card, Ministry of Defence issued Veterans ID, or other proof of veteran status to be eligible.
Bereaved family members must carry a named complimentary ticket and photographic ID to show staff if requested.
By being in uniform or showing the same ID that is accepted for free travel, veterans travelling to or from London Marylebone on November 7 or 8, will be eligible for a complimentary hot drink at the Starbucks shop in the station.
Chiltern Railways commercial and customer strategy director Michael Stewart said: “Remembrance weekend is an important opportunity for us to come together and honour those who have served and sacrificed for our country.
“We are proud to support serving military personnel and veterans by providing free travel, helping them attend services and pay tribute to those who have served.
“We are also pleased to offer veterans a complimentary hot drink at London Marylebone this weekend, providing a warm welcome and a small gesture of thanks in recognition of their service.”
A similar arrangement has been announced by Stagecoach, parent of Buckinghamshire bus operator Stagecoach East, which has announced that free bus travel will be available to serving military personnel, cadets and veterans on its services on Sunday November 8 and Wednesday November 11.
