Lord Lieutenant of Bucks officially opens refurbished care home in Wing
The Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire The Countess Howe has officially opened Wing View Care Centre, following an extensive refurbishment of the site.
The official opening of the 75-bed care home, located on Church Street in the village, took place on Wednesday, August 5.
During the event, Lady Howe toured the care home meeting residents and team members before unveiling a commemorative plaque.
Speaking during the opening Lady Howe said: “I have enjoyed meeting residents and team members at Wing View Care Centre, and I have been impressed by the warmth, kindness and sense of community that is so evident throughout the home."

Wing View Care Centre is located on the site formerly known as Carey Lodge, which was closed in 2021, following damning reports from the Care Quality Commission.
The site was taken over by the Orders of St John Care Trust and welcomed its first residents in October 2025.
Clive Hamblet, a dedicated resident representative at Wing View Care Centre met Countess Howe during her tour of the home and presented her with a gift.
He said: “It’s not every day that you get to welcome His Majesty’s representative into your home, so I was very pleased to chat with the Lord-Lieutenant.”
Among the features of the refurbished care home are en-suite bedrooms, landscaped gardens and a bright bistro space.
Speaking last year the home’s manager Julie Reeve said: “Our vision is to provide a place where residents can live well, feel valued, and remain connected to the people and things that matter most.
“It’s about much more than care; it’s about creating a community.”
