Bicester man jailed for four and a half years for repeatedly stabbing woman after telling her she was ‘evil’
A man from Bicester has been jailed for four and a half years for repeatedly stabbing a woman after calling her “evil” and saying he needed to “get rid” of her.
Michael Brits, aged 27, of Fair Close in Bicester was jailed for causing grievous bodily harm with intent, threatening a person with a bladed article in a private place and possessing a knife or a bladed article in a public place.

However, following a six-day trial Brits was acquitted of attempted murder, following the incidents at an address in Fair Close in March.
Oxford Crown Court heard how Brits entered a room where a woman in her sixties was sitting, before telling her she was “evil” and he needed to “get rid” of her.
Brits then repeatedly stabbed the victim with a knife, leaving her with multiple stab wounds, including injuries to her abdomen and thigh, as well as defensive injuries to her hands while she was attempting to protect herself.
Thames Valley Police said the victim fled to a neighbouring property to ask for help, with Brits then approaching a second woman and appearing to lunge towards her while still in possession of the weapon.
Brits later returned to the address where he dropped the knife, before officers attended and arrested him.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Chloe Jeffs said: “This was an extremely serious and violent offence in which a woman sustained multiple stab wounds and significant injuries.
“Knife violence has devastating consequences, not only for those directly involved but also for families, neighbours and the wider community.
“I hope this outcome provides reassurance that we will continue to pursue those who commit serious violent offences and work tirelessly to protect the public.”
