Hazard follows in the footsteps of the likes of Gareth Bale, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard as UK-based players to have featured on the front cover of the global blockbuster.
FIFA 15 is released on September 26 and if the demo is anything to go by fans are in for more of the same with the usual raft of improvements including improved goalkeeper AI, graphics, all the Premier League stadiums, amazing commentary and most importantly improved passing, crossing and shooting mechanics and physics.
Shooting was the main noticeable improvement while playing the demo on Playstation 4 and goals were more satisfying than ever.
It would have been a proud moment for Chelsea and Belgium star Hazard to get the nod from EA Sports.
Commercially being the cover star for Europe (alongside the man who is always guaranteed a place on the cover – Lionel Messi) is big business and very lucrative.
It is a big statement from the guys at EA, who know their football, but it is also a lot of pressure. Flop and it is some fall from grace.
So all eyes will be on the 23 year old Belgian now, particularly those of gamers.
It is clear why he was chosen, though, having completed more successful dribbles than any other player in the Premier League last season – 132.
Dan Holman, head of UK product marketing EA Sports said: “We’re delighted to have Eden on the cover of FIFA 15 and to be working with him and Chelsea in showcasing the Barclays Premier League to the amazing level of detail that the game will deliver this year.”
