Talia produced a big new points PB of 2695. She had PB’s in 75m Hurdles (12.5s) and shot (8.45m) which she followed with a gutsy run in the 800m where she finished in 2:40.6 for a new PB and an overall win by 50 points.

Talia beat off the competition of 52 athletes to secure the victory.

Meanwhile, Laurette – who was doing her first multi-event as an U17 – finished third overall from 24 competitors.

Considering she had been out injured for around two months and came into the event cold, having only resumed training the week, previously, this was a great result for her.

Laurette triumphed in the U15 event last season, winning selection to the Herts team.

Both girls should now be selected for the Herts team to compete in the regional round at the end of June, where they will compete against seven other teams from the south and east of England.

If they come through that, the U15 girls’ team will compete in the National Finals in which they will look to retain the trophy won last season.

The two girls look set to be joined by a third Dacorum athlete, Zoe Williams, in the U17 age group. Zoe gave a very good all-round performance, finishing fourth in the age group.
