Winslow care home worker skydiving to raise funds for sensory technology to help residents
A worker at a Winslow care home is set to complete a skydive this weekend to raise funds for an interactive digital sensory table, to help residents living with dementia.
Denise Lovie, who works at Swan House Care Home in Winslow, is jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet at Hinton Airfield in Northamptonshire on Saturday August 1.

Denise is aiming to raise money to purchase a Digital Rainbow Table for the home, an interactive sensory activity table designed for care homes.
The tables, which typically cost more than £5,500, can help reduce anxiety, combat loneliness and improve fine motor skills through interactive games, music and virtual travel.
Denise has set up a GoFundMe page which has raised £565 at the time of writing and is hoping that businesses across the area can help close the funding gap.
Denise said: “Our residents deserve the very best quality of life, and this technology opens up a whole new world for them.
"Seeing a resident with advanced dementia suddenly light up, smile, and engage with a digital memory game is entirely worth jumping out of a plane for.
“I have raised a fantastic amount so far through the local community, but we are facing a final funding shortfall to make this dream a reality."
Once purchased, the sensory table will be integrated into the care home’s daily activities schedule.
