Jail for terrifying shop raid thug

A thug who carried out a terrifying raid holding staff hostage in a newsagents has been jailed.

Lewis Bradbrook-Taylor, 22, was found guilty of attempted robbery and two counts of false imprisonment at Aylesbury Crown Court this week.

The thug, from Thame raided the Martin McColls newsagents in Haddenham in July this year, surprising staff in the early hours of the morning.

Workers at the shop in Banks Parade, Haddenham were taking delivery of newspapers when the robber 
approached the pair and forced them inside before 
tying them up.

Bradbrook-Taylor then stole a sum of cash from the till before running off.

At the time of the incident staff told police how Bradbrook-Taylor wore a baseball cap and scarf to conceal his identity. He was also brandishing a weapon, but the shocked victims were unable to say exactly what it was. Police issued an appeal to the public which was carried by this newspaper.

Bradbrook-Taylor must now serve three years behind bars for the robbery and holding the staff hostage.
