Wena, as she is affectionately known was bred by David Smith and Alison Jones from the stud.

Owner Lesley Evans, from Thame said: “I have had Broughton Morwena since she was a six-month-old foal and she has won both ridden and inhand classes at shows including the Bucks County Show and Thame.

“She is a lovely mare with a very kind temperament and she loves everyone, both human and animal, but she is renowned for being very greedy!”

Although Mrs Evans does all the schooling of Broughton Morwena at home, Joe Smith of Nottinghill Welsh Ponies in Wingrave shows her in
hand.

Mrs Evans added: “Joe very kindly shows her for me inhand as he can run faster than me!”

“She had been due to enter the riding class at the show the next day but because my vehicle broke down we couldn’t take part in that.”
