Leader of the Council, Martin Tett said: “Once again this year we must look carefully at the way we plan and fund out services. In order to cope with increasing demands on many of our core services, we have to look at ways of reducing on spending in other areas and using innovative ways to help us balance the books.”

Martin Phillips, Cabinet Member for Community Engagement, stressed the importance of people taking the time to complete the survey: “Every year we face challenging decisions about how to allocate our budget and we need your input. Ultimately the decisions we make will impact on you in some way so it is important that you take the time now to tell us what is important to you.

“We do listen to what people tell us and have acted on comments made in last year’s budget consultation in direct response, so don’t delay, take part in the consultation now and have your say on our budget priorities for next year.”

People who don’t have access can still take part in the consultation by visiting any of the county’s libraries and using the computers there for free.

The online consultation, which runs until Sunday 8th January aims to get local people involved in helping to decide which areas of the Council’s work future spending should be focused on.

The council have put a survey online which is accessible at http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/budget which will only take a few minutes to complete.
