They are currently asking AVDC if approval is needed by the authority to change the use of the building with a more detailed planning application following in the future.

In a statement to the council, the site’s owner said the office units are under consideration are ‘low quality and under utilised’.

It said the wider area is dominated by other commerical office buildings and light industrial use, but that Aylesbury town centre is only one mile away.

It said the change of use would reduce the number of car trips currently associated with the building, ‘to the beneift of the surrounding highways network’.

In another statement to the council, its agents Kent Design Studio added: “The proposed development has good infrastructure links with the road and public transport network.

“Impact upon these is considered to be acceptable, with a significant reduction in the number of trips associated with a residential use, as apposed to that of an intensive office use.”
