The offenders, who were wearing hooded-tops and rucksacks, discarded the ladder in Sheffield Close and ran off towards Mandeville Road.

Investigating officer Det Con Gemma Howe, based at Local CID at Aylesbury police station, said: "We are conducting a full investigation into this incident and would like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in this area at this time.

"I am particularly interested in talking to anyone who may have seen the offenders discarding the ladder in Sheffield Close, or anyone who may have seen a dark-coloured Mini with a white roof and a silver Peugeot estate in this area at this time.

"You can contact me directly via the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101. Alternatively, if you do not want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers (opens new window) anonymously on 0800 555 111.
