Bucks village has its own shop for the first time ever

This morning the village’s councillor Angela Macpherson officially opened the Mace store, much to the delight of residents.

David Russell, Neighbourhood Watch coordinator for Calvert Green, said: “We have been promised a shop for about five or six years and finally we have one!

“It’s going to be lovely for people around here who now won’t have to go elsewhere to get their bits and pieces, it’s going to be open late, and seven days a week as well so will be perfect for when people finish work.”

Residents turned out in force for the grand unveiling of the shop, which plans to also serve hot food and drinks in the near future.
