Bucks’ claimant count nears historic low
Buckinghamshire’s claimant count is at the second-lowest ever level since records began in 1983.
It fell by 117 in October to stand at 2,575, or 0.8% of working age residents.
This figure includes 782 people in Aylesbury Vale claiming job seeker’s allowance, 0.7% of the population.
Women now account for 40% of claimants, up from 26% pre-recession.
