Aylesbury community board calls out to local young people

The project which launches this week, aims to source the views, thoughts and opinions of young people in the local area about their priorities and what they would like to see improved.

Buckinghamshire’s 16 local community boards work with people in their local area to listen to what matters most to them and come up with ideas and solutions to make improvements.

Tolis Vouyioukas, Buckinghamshire Council's Corporate Director for Children's Services said: "Aylesbury Community Board is keen to gain the views of young people in the area and we are excited to be able to involve them in the process.

"This project will be created by young people for young people. Understanding the views of our young people in Buckinghamshire is important to the council, in order to help us shape our priorities and services. It is also really valuable for our partners to help shape their priorities too."

The Youth Views project, funded by the Aylesbury Community Board, is being delivered in partnership by Aylesbury Youth Matters and the Cloudy Foundation.

In this first stage, a group of 15 young people aged between 11 and 24 are being sought to work with Aylesbury Youth Action to develop a series of questions that will later be formulated into a web app with the help of local college students and promoted to the wider population of young people in the area later this year.
