A dozen new Covid cases have been confirmed in Aylesbury Vale today (June 11).

This is a significant drop from yesterday when 22 new cases were reported in just 24 hours.

Nationally, the figures tell a different story. Overall, 8,125 new positive tests were confirmed in the UK.

This is the first time since February over 8,000 new cases of Covid have been confirmed in the UK in just 24 hours.

In Aylesbury Vale no new coronavirus-linked deaths were confirmed, these are categorised as fatalities, where someone has passed within 28 days of returning a positive test.

Daily figures show 362 and 333 first and second dose vaccinations were confirmed in Aylesbury Vale. The latest data shows 53.8% of adults in Aylesbury Vale are fully vaccinated, 74.6% of over 18s have received a first dose.

The government recorded a further 17 deaths that could be linked to Covid throughout the UK. A further 201,607 first dose and 308,308 second dose jabs were delivered across the UK. The latest data shows 78% of over 18s have received a first jab protecting against Covid, 55.4% of adults have been vaccinated twice in Britain.
