Stoke Mandeville Stadium is one of nine PCN-led vaccination centres now operating across Buckinghamshire.

There are also eight pharmacy-led vaccination sites now running, and the large-scale vaccination centre at Buckinghamshire New University’s Aylesbury campus.

The pharmacy-led sites and the large-scale vaccination centres can be booked via the National Booking System.

The GP-led sites invite patients in directly.

Dr Sajid Zaib, Clinical Lead of the Stoke Mandeville Stadium Vaccination Centre, said: “We’re really pleased to have reached this milestone with our vaccinations, but there is still lots of work to do as the rollout continues.

“The Stoke Mandeville Stadium Vaccination Centre has been an amazing team effort – from the clinical and non-clinical staff of all the GP practices involved, the support of Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, Buckinghamshire CCG and the invaluable work of our fantastic volunteers.

"It is a real testament to all their efforts that the rollout is going so well and our site is running so efficiently.

"All the GP-led vaccination sites across Buckinghamshire have come together in a similar way, and have been doing tremendous work for their patients.

"We would also like to thank the local community for their patience as we manage large volumes of visitors in and out of the Vaccination Centre during our clinics.

"Their continued support and kind comments makes the hard work and long days worthwhile.

“It has been a real privilege for us all to be part of such a remarkable collaboration that will make such a different to people’s lives.”

The Buckingham constituency has vaccinated the most people out of the Buckinghamshire constituencies.

The GP-led Buckingham Vaccination Centre opened on 20 January and has been inviting patients registered with the Swan Practice, covering Buckingham, Steeple Claydon and surrounding villages.

It has around 25 volunteers, both clinical and non-clinical, including a member of St Johns Ambulance, three retired GPs and six nurses.

The vaccination team have been very grateful for the help of Buckingham Rotary Club who are working hard to direct traffic and patients to both the community clinics and the local pharmacy clinics.

The team has been visiting their four local care homes to vaccinate staff and patients, as well as more than 200 housebound patients and, in most cases, their carers.
