An NHS spokesperson at Buckinghamshire Health NHS Trust said:

“The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases.

"All frontline staff receive regular mandatory and statutory training on caring for patients with infectious diseases in accordance with national guidance - this includes training on personal protective clothing and equipment.

"Training refreshers for all staff have been stepped up since February to ensure our teams are fully prepared and ready to deal with the anticipated increase of COVID-19 patients."
