The UK death toll spiked again today, with 861 new fatalities from coronavirus being reported.

It takes the total number of people who have died from the disease in the United Kingdom to 13,729.

Over 100,000 have now tested positive for coronavirus in the UK (103,093) but less than 1% of the population has been tested so the true number is expected to be far higher.

It is expected that the Government will announce a three-week extension of the lockdown later today.

Globally, 2,109,559 have contracted the disease and 137,061 have sadly died from coronavirus.
