Winslow restaurant claims crown at National Takeaway Awards 2026
An Aylesbury Vale outlet was among the winners at this year’s National Takeaway Awards.
Chutney Jacks in Winslow won the Most Voted Takeaway of the Year award at the annual event. Co-owner Kam Gupta accepted the national award at a black-tie ceremony.
His business, which is located on Winslow High Street, was founded in 2015. Kam launched the takeaway outlet alongside his wife Shilpa, their mantra is serving authentic, health-conscious Indian cuisine across a 7-mile radius.
Another point of pride for the business is its eight consecutive years of achieving a 5-Star Food Hygiene Rating. Chutney Jacks is operated as a nut-free kitchen and holds strong customer ratings across various online platforms.

In his acceptance speech, Kam dedicated the trophy to the business's loyal customer base. He said: "Bringing a national award home to a small town like Winslow means everything to us. We didn't win this award on our own—our incredible customers voted for us, supported our family business, and made this possible. This victory belongs to the whole community."
Chutney Jacks also supports organisations and the Winslow community in other ways. It provides food and supports local events held such as primary school fundraisers, village festivals, mental health initiatives, and food relief through the St Laurence Food Cupboard.
In 2022, the takeaway restaurant was voted as the best outlet in the South of East of England at the English Curry Awards. Kam said in 2022: “Basically, it’s the quality we focus on, so we only use fresh ingredients. Our main selling point is we focus on using as little oil as we can, so it’s a more healthy curry."
