Editor's column: It turns out this week that we are all a bit more punk rock than we thought...
And as I merrily booked tickets for the first gig I will probably go to in 18 blooming months, I started thinking about punk rock in general.
That DIY attitude.
Because in Bucks we’ve been a bit punk rock this week, and have done it for ourselves, to make sure that those kids don’t go hungry over half term.
Outraged, jaded and anti-establishment, us?! Surely not...
Hats off to the hospitality businesses, already affected themselves by the pandemic, who stuck their necks out to help, and hats off to the individuals who said ‘what can I do?’
Johnny Rotten famously sang ‘no future’, but our different DIY punk rock future isn’t ‘no future at all’, because we look after people when they need help, and we do it ourselves.
But how sad that we are doing it because we can’t rely on our elected representatives to do the right thing on his important issue.
