Aylesbury school 'locked down' after police called

Parents and carers of pupils at a school in Aylesbury were sent an email this morning after an incident which saw the school 'locked down'.

The Booker Park School in Aylesbury informed parents and carers at 9.31am in an email seen by The Bucks Herald.

The school said it is unable to give any additional information because the police have launched an investigation.

Parents who have been in contact with The Herald are understandably worried about what has happened.

The letter said: "The lockdown ended when the police arrived and lasted for no more than 10 minutes.

"All children are safe and no child was involved, although a very small number of children may have witnesses the event.

"Children may be aware of the police presence on site.

"Please assure them if they mention it to you, that the police were on site to help us and make sure everyone was safe."

Thames Valley Police have been approached for a comment.
