Aylesbury reacts to news Starbucks set to open in Berryfields
And it was a bit of a mixed bag.
Lots of comments were supporting the development, saying Aylesbury needed more big chains to draw people in to the area.
Others were lamenting the negative effects this would have on local coffee shops.
Paula Kirby was very positive, saying 'it was a dream come true' for the coffee giant to come to Aylesbury.
Peter Mead, however, said he would have preferred a KFC.
Steve Clowe said: "I think it will be good thing... More jobs created, which we need since more shops are going under."
Sharon Buckland said that she liked the idea but wasn't sure it was in the right location.
Starbucks had a total of 1,025 stores in the United Kingdom in 2020.
Worldwide expansion of the Seattle-based company has not only allowed it to become a household name across the globe, it has also made it one of the most successful companies in history.
In 2019, Starbucks recorded its highest ever annual revenue of over 26 and a half billion U.S. dollars, up from a comparatively meagre four billion in 2003.
However, Lisa Walker said that she thought it was an ideal location.
She said: "A drive thru coffee shop on the a41 is a great idea in my opinion"
Keith Parnell argued that there were already loads of coffee shops in town, that were also independently owned.
Fay Gallacher said: "Finally! A Starbucks in Aylesbury"
Harriet Taylor argued that we don't need any more coffee shops, especially Starbucks.
She said: "We definitely don't need any more coffee shops.. especially Starbucks.. sugar filled drinks ..be prepared for diabetes!"
So as you can see, it's been a completely mixed bag.
