New epic action-packed magical series for young adult readers by Buckinghamshire debut author, Tig Wallace
Wallace grew up in Buckinghamshire, living in Beaconsfield and attending school in Amersham.
Storm Bringer by debut Buckinghamshire author Tig Wallace was published by Chicken House this year, the first in a new series for young adult readers, which The Irish Times described as ‘ambitious … skilful and addictive’ and by author of This Mortal Coil, Emily Suvada, as ‘a pulse-pounding ride through a unique, thrilling new world that’s crackling with adventure, romance and magic.’

Wallace grew up in Buckinghamshire, living in Beaconsfield and attending school in Amersham. After finishing school, he worked in Chalfont St Giles and then worked at the Pinewood Studios in Iver where he got to see some post-production on Casino Royale and pre-production on Quantum of Solace. He is now a writer and editor, currently working as Publishing Director at Little, Brown, having previously spent several years at Hachette Children’s and Penguin Random House Children’s, where he worked on the Wimpy Kid series.
Storm Bringer is an intricately crafted, extraordinary fantasy world where magic and science both collide and divide. With nail-biting peril reminiscent of blockbuster disaster films such as Twister, Mad Max chase scenes and a love triangle, it’s perfect for fans of action, epic fantasy, sci-fi, and romantasy too.
The story is set in a world facing a spiralling crisis caused by the most formidable elemental magic the world has ever witnessed, and our hero Amelio finds himself in the eye of the storm. As he awakens a dormant power within, he joins a brave band on a daring quest to tame the fury of nature itself ...
Tig Wallace said: ‘I’m over the moon that my first book, Storm Bringer, is out now. A lot of it was written in Buckinghamshire where I come from and I drew a lot of inspiration from imagining it on the shelves in my local bookshops and libraries - some of which I've been visiting since I could read. I grew up in Beaconsfield and went to school in Amersham, so I feel very lucky to have had wonderful bookshops on my doorstep all my life, from Waterstones in Amersham, Chesham, High Wycombe and beyond, to Marlow bookshop and the Chiltern Bookshop. It’s the greatest feeling to see my book in those shops and I’m grateful for the support.’
Signed copies of Storm Bringer are available at Waterstones and independent bookshops in Buckinghamshire and Tig Wallace will be talking about his book and being a writer at the Young Adult Literature Convention at the Hilton Metropole, London on 1 November 2026, tickets are available at yalc.co.uk.
Storm Bringer by Tig Wallace is out now in paperback (£8.99, Chicken House)
