More than 2,000 visitors enjoy successful Wendover Arts Festival weekend
The 2026 Wendover Arts Festival has been declared a huge success after more than 2,000 visitors attended the much-loved Bank Holiday weekend event celebrating art, creativity and community spirit.

Held over three days in the heart of Wendover, the festival brought together artists, volunteers and visitors for a vibrant weekend filled with exhibitions, conversation, refreshments and local culture.
The festival officially opened on Friday evening with a special preview event attended by dignitaries including the newly elected Mayor of Aylesbury, Councillor Sherilyn Bateman, and Greg Smith MP. Guests were given an early opportunity to view the exhibition, meet artists and celebrate the start of one of the village’s most anticipated annual events.

Throughout the weekend, visitors travelled from across the local area and beyond to enjoy a wide variety of artwork from talented local and regional artists. The church venue was transformed into a bustling gallery space, while the festival café became a popular hub for visitors to relax and socialise.
Organisers released a number of standout statistics from the sunshine-soaked weekend, highlighting the scale and success of the event. More than 1006 pieces of artwork were sold across the weekend, alongside more than 99 cream teas, 166 ploughman’s lunches, 196 glasses of Pimm’s and 100 glasses of wine served by the volunteer café teams.
Festival organisers praised the dedication of the volunteers, artists and supporters who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the event possible.
A spokesperson for the festival said: “The atmosphere across the whole weekend was absolutely wonderful. From the moment the doors opened on preview night to the final visitors on Monday afternoon, there was such a strong sense of warmth, creativity and community. It has been fantastic to see so many people supporting the arts and enjoying everything the festival has to offer.”

Visitors also commented on the quality and variety of the artwork on display, with many praising the welcoming atmosphere and the opportunity to meet and talk directly with artists.
The Wendover Arts Festival has become a much-loved fixture in the local calendar and organisers say plans are already underway for the next event.
