Care UK’s Maids Moreton Hall, on Church Street, was awarded a ‘good’ rating across all five key areas – safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness and leadership – by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The report praised the team’s approach to supporting residents’ health and wellbeing, alongside the range of activities on offer. These include regular exercise sessions, quizzes, coffee mornings and trips out into the local community, as well as personalised one-to-one activities.

Inspectors also highlighted the team’s efforts to make residents’ wishes come true.  Through the home’s Wishing Tree initiative, two residents who wanted to visit Wimbledon were supported to enjoy a private tour of the grounds.

The report noted positive feedback about the kindness of team members, with one resident saying: “I am well looked after here and everyone is kind.”

The report also praised the home’s partnership working with local healthcare professionals, enabling residents to access the highest possible standards of care. A healthcare professional commented: “The staff that work at Maids Moreton are all genuinely lovely people. If I needed to have a family member in care this would be my first option.”

The assessment recognised that team members supported residents to practise their faith, celebrate their culture and enjoy music using technology tailored to their preferences.

Suzanne Biston, Deputy Home Manager at Maids Moreton Hall, said: “We want everyone who lives here to feel safe, respected and able to enjoy the things that matter most to them. It’s lovely to hear residents speak positively about the team and the activities they enjoy, and we know how important it is to take the time to understand each person as an individual.

“I’m really proud of the team members, who work so hard to make residents’ lives enjoyable and rewarding. It’s always great to hear such positive feedback and I look forward to celebrating this achievement with the team and continuing to build on our success in delivering exceptional care.”

Maids Moreton Hall provides full-time residential, dementia and nursing care, as well as short-term respite care. Designed to enable residents to lead active and fulfilling lives, while also promoting independence, the home incorporates plenty of space for leisure activities and hobbies, including its own hair salon, cinema room and café. The layout of the home has been configured to facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
