Bucks Council has announced plans to hold a ‘Sci-Fi Day’ event in Aylesbury as part of an annual children’s entertainment programme.

To complete its ‘WhizzFizz on Tour’ series for 2024 the council is hosting a science fiction themed event at Aylesbury Library on Saturday (19 October).

It is free to attend and celebrates the futuristic storytelling genre by offering youngsters the chance to meet their favourite heroes.

Councillor Clive Harriss said: “Aylesbury Sci-Fi Day is going to be out of this world - perfect for fans of sci-fi, fantasy, superheroes and comics of all ages, and it’s free! “It’s important to us to give all children in Bucks the chance to enjoy cultural events and activities, so we’re delighted to be able to bring this event to Aylesbury. And with many of the activities taking place indoors, it’s a great choice, rain or shine. “With support from local communities and businesses we’ve been able to put on an array of events across the county over the summer as part of WhizzFizz on Tour, including the Grand Re-opening of Chesham Library and a new festival for High Wycombe, Wycombe Celebrates.”

Among the activities planned for this week are comic book creation workshops with professional graphic design artists, a robot hunt game, and a large Warhammer session.
