Every year, Aylesbury Town Council puts together a free two-day programme at Vale Park for residents.
Aylesbury Parklife is made up of two days of free entertainment. On Saturday guests witnessed Live in the Park and Proms in the Park took place on Sunday.
Stoke Mandeville Hospital Radio’s Dez Kay hosted the Live in the Park event which was headlined by The Eclectix. The five-piece band brought their funky interpretation of classics to Vale Park in a set packed with audience interaction.
New for this year’s festival was a reimagined Festival Village that was filled with stalls from local organisations and community groups. A children’s entertainment tent was set up away from the main stage where performers kept the little ones engaged.
DJ Dan Blaze brought the day to a close with Club in the Park, a family-friendly retro rave experience. Sunday began with Battle of the Bands, giving aspiring artists across two age categories the chance to perform at a future Live in the Park.
Clear Air Turbulence were crowned winners of the 24-and-under category, while With Me Run Ghosts took the top spot in the 25-and-over category.
As well as securing a place in Live in the Park 2027, they won an eight-hour professional studio recording session with event partners XYZ Music Academy.
Following Battle of the Bands, the stage was opened up to the public for Bandeoke, with members of the audience taking their turn to perform alongside a live house band made up of musicians from XYZ Music Academy.
The weekend concluded with Proms in the Park, which saw the park filled with music as audiences enjoyed an evening of British favourites and traditional Proms classics. Aylesbury Concert Band performed alongside local musicians.
Aylesbury Mayor, Councillor Sherrilyn Bateman, said: “Parklife Weekend makes me very proud to be Mayor of our beautiful town. It was a wonderful testament to community spirit, collaboration and teamwork.
“I extend my thanks to everyone who attended with a positive attitude prepared to join in the fun, music and activities.”
The Mayor’s chosen charity, Aylesbury Homeless Action Group (AHAG), was also supported throughout the weekend, with visitors able to make donations during activities at the event.
