TringRugby revolution continues with new additions to coaching team
Following the recent announcement of Giles Wallis as TringRugby head coach, the club has now confirmed the latest additions to the coaching team.
Tom Newton will step in as assistant coach/backs coach, with Gary Trueman confirmed as backs coach, Steve Clapham as first team manager and Shane Graham as second team manager.
TringRugby director of rugby Mike Ward said: “In appointing Tom and Gary we are sticking to our ethos of developing home grown talent both on the field and in the coaching team.
“Throughout his rugby career, Tom – who will continue to play for the club – has knocked back approaches from other clubs to play in the black and gold; it’s exactly that type of commitment we want at the club.
“Gary, who also played in our mini & juniors, academy and first team, brings a wealth of experience having played in the Premiership for both Saracens and Worcester and he has also played for the Barbarians.
“Steve has previously been our first team manager and carried out that same role at London Scottish last year, and will also bring that experience with him. At this time I would like to thank Mason (Wallace) for the excellent job he did in this role last year.
“Shane, an ex-player of many, many, years’ service, who wants to keep up his involvement in the club, knows the second team inside out and will be a fantastic addition to the team - also thank you to Derek (Trusselle) who left the team in an extremely good shape.”
