Tring Tennis Club’s men’s first team achieved a record-breaking finish to the Aylesbury League winter season by topping Division One for the first time since the league began almost 50 years ago.

They beat off stiff opposition in the process, including local rivals Berkhamsted and Halton – and all without losing a match.

The third team also dominated their division by going on an unbeaten run as they ended the winter with a huge 10-point advantage over their nearest rivals.

Tring Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1906, making it one of the longest established clubs in Hertfordshire.

The club appointed Everyball Coaching – headed up by Danny West – in January 2014, and has seen renewed enthusiasm throughout the club as a result.

The introduction of a men only tennis night on a Thursday has been a great success and helped the squads to develop their skills and build team spirit.

The club have also worked hard to improve inclusivity, and participation has increased across all levels.
