Young Dacorum & Tring athlete Tia Stonehouse competed in the Eastern Region Combined Event Minithon Championships at Peterborough on Sunday, where she finished third overall out of 24 competitors.

A minithon is the equivalent of a pentathlon for U13 athletes, where the competitors must choose one throwing event, one jumping event and one running event.

Points are awarded in each of the three events based on performance, and the three totals are combined to give the overall total.

For her three events, Tia selected high jump, where she came second, javelin, which she won, and 100m which she also won with a PB time of 13.75 seconds.

Her points total fell short by one point from second and three points from first, but she was pleased with her bronze medal performance.

Tia is currently ranked joint-16th in the UK in the high jump, with her PB of 1.48m, and eighth in the UK for the javelin, with a PB throw of 29.80m.
