The Aylesbury Rugby Club touch rugby tournament, now in its fifth year, continues to go from strength to strength with many more teams registering in this year’s event than ever before.

Now well into the league competition there is a great atmosphere and, as well as being competitive, the tournament allows those taking part to meet new players and teams and enjoy the game.

Sponsored by 1Life, who manage Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the event has over 120 taking part each week.

Ian Seabrook, business development manager at the stadium, said: “There is a tremendous buzz each week at the Ostler’s Field and we are pleased to be associated with this as it meets many of our values and this year we have even entered a team”.

The event would not happen without volunteers, in particular referees, and Gerald Evans, a veteran with the whistle, said: “The players are great and a joy to referee even though on occasion it can get very competitive.”
