Aylesbury RFC will be looking to extend their winning run to six games this weekend when they welcome struggling Drifters to Ostler’s Field
Last weekend’s 20-12 victory over Bicester kept the Ducks in second place in the Southern Counties North, six points behind leaders High Wycombe.
As well as continuing their good league form, Aylesbury will also be aiming to extend their unbeaten home run to 17 matches having last suffered defeat at Ostler’s Field way back in September 2013.
Their opponents this weekend, Drifters, have experienced a mixed season so far and currently lie down in ninth place.
Drifters had made a fast start to the season having won four of their first five league games, but last weekend’s 28-13 win over bottom side Alchester was their first victory since mid-October after a run of nine successive defeats.
Ahead of this weekend’s clash. Aylesbury head coach Dave Larham said: “This weekend’s game against Drifters will be a similar challenge to the Bicester game where we will need to build on our game management and maintain the tempo of the game by dominating both possession and territory.”
The match kicks-off at 2:15 on Saturday.
