The Anglo-Bahraini team’s driver combinations will be Dean Macdonald, a contender for the British GT GT4 title last year, Angus Pender and Isa Al-Khalifa, a Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East graduate.

Al-Khalifa, whose co-driver will be confirmed in due course, co-owns 2 Seas Motorsport with business partner Nick Cristofaro. The McLaren Customer Racing team established just last year.

Al-Khalifa expects to hit the ground running when Cheshire’s Oulton Park hosts the British GT Championship opener over the weekend of April 11 to 13.

He said: “I am really proud to confirm the first of our exciting plans for this season.”

“It is going to be a tough year, and we are going in at a high level. The grid is one of the strongest it has ever been with world-class drivers and teams.

“However, Dean, Angus and I are all fired up for the challenge, and while we are a new team, the 720S GT3 has proven itself on the world stage already.”

The British GT Championship, sponsored by Intelligent Money, was officially launched last week at Snetterton in Norfolk. Neither of the 2 Seas Motorsport McLarens was present at the event as the team chose to develop their cars at other test sessions before the Oulton opener.
