The Bucks County Closed Championships were held over the weekend at Wycombe Squash Club, with the home club’s Tom Power being crowned men’s county champion for the third time and second year running, winning 3-0 against Aylesbury Grammar School’s Alex Preston in the final.

The men’s championships were a clean sweep for Wycombe, with Petr Nedzarilik taking the B Grade and Harry Lomas the C Grade.

Back in the Bucks Squash League, leaders Aylesbury Grammar School marched relentlessly on, crushing Chesham Bois 1a 19-2, while Beaconsfield Lions defeated Wycombe’s first team 17-10 to stay third, with second-placed Beaconsfield Tigers beating Aylesbury.

In Division Two, WSRC 2s lost for the first time this year, going down 13-9 to Aylesbury IIs. However, they still have a 32-point lead over nearest challengers Holmer Green IIs, who beat Chesham Bois Seniors 17-9.

In Division Three, WSRC IIIs beat Holmer Green IIIs 14-6 to stay second in the league, with 3-0 wins for Chris Popham, Freddie Evans, and Laura Blakey.

With leaders Beaconsfield Trojans surprisingly losing their last two, WSRC IV’s 19-2 win over Aylesbury IIIs means the top three are separated by only five points.
