‘Lightning’ Luke Richardson lived up to his nickname as he won the Best Rookie trophy in only his third race with professional karting team Protrain.

The team has produced world, European and national karting champions, and Luke looks to be well on his way to adding to their plethora of achievements.

The 13-year-old Tring School pupil beat a host of more experienced and older drivers in his class at the English Karting Championship at the Shenington Race Circuit, near Banbury .

TV Channel Motors TV filmed the event, but speed demon Luke didn’t let the added pressure get to him. “The level of competition is so intense and I am so happy with my achievement racing at this level,” he said.

Luke is always looking for sponsorship or the opportunity to promote a local business, and any offers will be warmly received. Please email [email protected] for further information.
