An unlikely fightback and a goal inside four seconds '“ the latest ADL round-up

Haddenham United continue to lead the Aylesbury & District Premier Division despite surrendering a two-goal lead during the weekend's round of matches, the highlight of which came in Division Three.

Haddenham led Aylesbury Dynamos 2-0 through Mitch Meredith and John Curtis before Craig Beale was dismissed for Dynamos and that appeared to be game over.

But Leon Salter bagged a brace to snatch an unlikely point for the mid-table side.

The draw means Haddenham are eight points clear of second-placed APBS, who have four games in hand.

FC Mandeville leapfrogged Bucks CC with a 2-1 away win after Rob Jolly and Stuart Creaser both netted in reply to Rikki Sinfield’s goal.

In Division One, the bottom two both took severe beatings as Tetsworth lost 9-1 at home to St Johns Sports, who are now three points adrift of leaders Long Crendon with a game in hand.

Kirsten Edworthy’s four goals led the way while Adam Richmond chipped in with two and Mark Avis, Tom Burton and an own goal sealed a resounding victory.

New Zealand have an outside chance of promotion if they win all five of their games in hand after an 8-1 win over Bedgrove Dynamos 8-1, with Kedge Jeffrey (4), Musa Schmidt (2), Jamie O’Connor and Jake Welsh all netting

In Division Two, Quainton are now 15 games unbeaten after battling to a 2-1 win at relegation-threatened Bedgrove Utd to go back top.

Rivets Sports drew 3-3 with Wendover Reserves to drop points in the promotion chase despite Steve Moore, Sam Webb and Sean O’Donnell all scoring.

FC Mandeville Reserves continue to chase them down as they beat Long Marston Reserves 4-0, who are just above the drop zone, through goals from Luke Trewavas (2), Jonny Fleet and Jack Haynes.

Haddenham Reserves’ hopes of a late promotion bid were dealt a blow when held to a 1-1 draw by FC Spandits Reserves, while Waddesdon beat Crendon Reserves 2-1.

Division Three witnessed one of the league’s most memorable moments.

Just four seconds were on the clock when Aylesbury Dynamos Reserves’ Chris Cackett launched a shot from the halfway line which crashed off the crossbar, onto the home goalkeeper and into the net for one of the quickest goals ever scored.

But it proved in vain as Ludgershall Reserves fought back thanks to Ulisses Dominquez’s equaliser and a late Jens Von Haefon free-kick.

In the cup competitions, Oving caused an upset when beating Tring Town AFC for a place in the Sheffield Jackman Cup semis, Josh Dance with a brace in a 2-1 win.

Archie Pettingel and Ryan Scott both grabbed hat-tricks as Long Crendon beat Wingrave 7-3 to seal their place in the last four of the same cup.

The final game saw APBS beat Long Marston 3-1 in the Tom Sparkes League Cup quarter-final. Pat Callaghan, Liam McElhinney and Lewis Creser all on target to book APBS’ place in the semis.
