Tring dominated the first half against SSML Division One side New Bradwell and were deservedly 2-0 up at half-time through Chris Vardy and an own goal.

However, the home side came out fired up for the second half and they reduced the deficit with a well struck goal five minutes after the restart.

Tring restored their two-goal margin 10 minutes from time when Kieran Turner set up Ryan McMahon who slotted the ball past the keeper.

Bradwell grabbed a second goal two minutes from time following a quick break and fine finish, to make the final score 3-2 which was just reward for their improved second half performance.

On the back of that win, Tring produced an excellent performance at Northampton Spencer who were champions of the United Counties League Division One last season.

Spencer took an early lead following a fortunate ricochet off the referee, but Tring quickly levelled the score through Vardy, who then went on to grab a second goal.

A third goal from Kieran Turner put Tring in a commanding 3-1 lead at half-time; the second half saw Athletic make a number of changes to the players and formation and they were unfortunate not to add to their tally.

It was a highly polished display from the Tring players which should put them in a good frame of mind for the visit of Aylesbury FC tomorrow.

Julian Robinson’s side have another friendly on Thursday at Risborough Rangers, kick-off 7.30pm, before Kidlington visit the Grass Roots Stadium on Saturday for Tring’s sixth and final friendly.

Their first competitive game will be a visit to Hatfield Town on Tuesday, August 4 in the Herts Charity Shield, and then on the Saturday, August 8 Tring begin their league programme with a visit from Hoddesdon Town.
