Risborough Rangers back on the winning trail

Having lost 3-0 to Wodson Park in midweek, Risborough Rangers returned to winning ways on Saturday when notching a 2-0 win at bottom side Arlesey Town Reserves.

A fine 20-yard strike from Vinnie Greco after 30 minutes put Rangers ahead before a well-worked second goal, finished off by Jamie Shrimpton, sent the away fans home happy.

This was a great way to celebrate Rangers being awarded the Spartan South Midlands League Division One Team of the Month for February a few days earlier.

After a competent and workmanlike display, Risborough now move up to eighth in SSML Division One with games still in hand on teams around them.

Risborough are in action again tonight, Wednesday, when they take on Crawley Green for the second time in three weeks.

Rangers then make the short trip to MK-based outfit New Bradwell St Peter on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Risborough Reserves also got back to winning ways on Saturday with a comfortable home win over local rivals Aston Clinton under the stewardship of caretaker boss for the day Jamie Roberts.

Rory Lonsdale and Max Clark scored first half screamers before Will Stone scored a third late on in the second half.
