Risborough Rangers face a crucial double-header over the next week as they come up against two promotion rivals at the top of South Midlands League Division One.
On Saturday, Rangers are on their travels when they make the trip to Gosling Sports Park to face third-placed Hatfield Town before on Tuesday, Risborough welcome league leaders Welwyn Garden City.
The match, which could involve three of the league’s top scorers including Rangers’ Martin Griggs, is the return fixture of October’s previous goalless draw between the two, when Risborough became the first team this season to come away from Welwyn with a point.
At present, Rangers are sitting in fifth place in the league and are looking to get back to winning ways against a side that has the best defensive record in the division, conceding only 10 goals this season and losing just once in 22 league games.
With both sides boasting good supported, Risborough are expecting a large attendance for the 7.45pm kick-off.
Last week, Risborough’s participation in the Wycombe Senior Cup was brought to an end at the quarter-final stage when they lost 3-0 at Chalfont St Peter, who play two divisions higher than Rangers.
Risborough were also frustrated at the weekend when their match at Arlesey Town Reserves was postponed.
