Ollie Stanbridge’s return to Aylesbury United was confirmed at the weekend as one of two further players to sign Southern League forms for the forthcoming campaign which starts with a home clash on August 6 against Potters Bar Town.
The vastly experienced playmaker first joined the Ducks back in 1999 and made more than 100 appearances over three seasons - either side of a short spell with Bugbrook St Michaels - that culminated in the club’s 2002 promotion back to the Ryman Premier Division.
Since his departure, Ollie went on to play over 500 games for Banbury United, appearing 40 times in Division One South & West of the Southern League last season despite having started the season with Ardley United. He has also featured for Brackley Town.
Also putting pen to paper is the ever-improving Ricky Brown. Initially joining the reserve team from local football last season, the right-back became a valuable member of the first team squad and will be looking to further establish himself this time around, although will miss the start of the season with injury.
Those two signings add to the four that joined last week.
One of those was goalkeeper Zaki Oualah who impressed for United having signed for the club for the second half of last season, while 21-year-old Tijeanne Bartley is a new face.
Aylesbury have also confirmed that young attacking player Jack Beech is back at the club, as is another U18s player Alex Little who has been rewarded for some fine displays in 2015/16.
Prior to those additions, United had confirmed the first 15 players to have signed Southern League forms for the forthcoming campaign.
Returning to the club from last season are: Jake Bewley, Reece Cameron, Alex Collard, Chris Crook, Ollie Hogg, Shiblu Miah, Alvin Rajaram, Jack Sillitoe, Jack Wood.
Alex Chilcott, Marcus Horwood and Dan Pounds have progressed from the U18s while Ryan Pearce, 22-year-old defender Jack Seaton and striker Gino Tosolari are three further new faces.
The Ducks played their third pre-season friendly on Saturday, going down to a 2-0 home defeat by Chesham United who scored two early goals. Notable inclusions in the Aylesbury line-up were the returning Bruno Brito, and Stanbridge.
