Hale Leys manager Paul Alleyne has urged his side not to get ahead of themselves despite their fine start to the season making them amongst this season’s title favourites.
The club had a weekend off due to a cup game backlog and Alleyne said: “We are a work in progress and together with the management team I am working continuously at improving this team and club one step at a time.
“We have been identified as title contenders this year but I want to highlight that we can’t run before we can walk. Yes the squad has improved, yes the football is better but is it enough to win the league? It’s too early to tell. A lot will be down to the players and their commitment to the cause.”
Leys entertain MK Wanderers in the Berks and Bucks Cup at Fairford Leys on Saturday (1.30pm).
