In a nightmare start for Aston, Tring netted twice and applied all the early pressure but Aston fought back admirable for a third successive league win.

King said afterwards: “Three wins in a row and 16 points from our last eight games is a pretty decent return.

“First 25 minutes we were awful and arguably the worse we have been and Tring deservedly led by two goals and possibly could have had more.

“But after that we were superb, showed what we are about and that is the performance that we expect week in, week out.

“Well done to 16-year-old Dan Forde who had a hand in all four goals which is unbelievable.

“We go again Saturday and look to climb the table even further.”

Having fallen behind to those two early goals, King made a tactical switch to 4-4-2 and this had an immediate impact as Aston began to take control.

Michael Harper missed two excellent chances, one which was brilliantly turned over by the Tring goalkeeper, before 16-year-old debutant Forde linked up with Alex Smith and Lamar Mason-Williams and finished into the bottom corner.

The momentum was now all with Aston and they swiftly drew level as Forde turned provider when playing through Mason-Williams to score before Smith converted a spot-kick after a Tring defender had been sent off to complete the turnaround.

Confidence was flowing through the team and the impressive Forde then rounded off a fine debut when teeing up Mason-Williams for his second.

Aston now face Amersham Town.
