Aylesbury United manager Tony Joyce was full of praise for Stacey Field after the striker scored his 100th goal for the club last week.
The 26-year-old, who signed for the club from Bedford Town, has been a prolific goalscorer for the Ducks ever since his arrival in 2011 with his 100th goal coming on his 171st appearance.
He also has eight hat-tricks for United - the most in the club’s history.
Field bagged his 100th goal last weekend when Aylesbury notched their first league win in five matches as they came from a goal down to beat Daventry Town 3-1.
Joyce said afterwards: “We went a goal down after four minutes but after that we played and defended well and it was a very convincing 3-1 win. I think the early goal was a kick up the backside.”
On Field, Joyce added: “He’s been fantastic for us ever since we signed him four or five seasons ago. He’s top scored every season since he signed and he’s missed a lot of football through injury so to score over 100 goals is a fantastic achievement.”
The Ducks were another local team to be thwarted by the weather at the weekend with their home match against Potters Bar Town postponed.
