Hale Leys United will be looking to complete the league and cup double tomorrow, Wednesday, when they take on Old Bradwell United at 7.45pm in the final of the South Midlands League Division Two Cup held at the Grass Roots Stadium in Tring.
Hale have long been confirmed as Division Two champions and this week South Midlands official John Thompson presented Hale chairman Roger Simmons with the trophy.
Simmons said: “I am delighted to accept this trophy as we have worked very hard at the club to compete and again we are seeing the fruits of our labour.
“Our management team of Paul Alleyne and Roni Joe have done it again and are showing that they are the right choice for this club and long may it continue!”
Manager Paul Alleyne added: “It’s another achievement for the club to show that we have consistency in the squad and we are able to win, however the season is not over for us as we have to focus on the Division Two Cup final this Wednesday.
“We lost this to kent last year in a closely-fought battle and although the opponents have changed our desire to win this trophy has not so we are very much up for this game.
“I hope that the people of Aylesbury will turn out in big numbers as this is quite local and we would all appreciate the support being close to home as Old Bradwell always travel with plenty of supporters and it’s set to be a great game. I hope me and my team are able to deliver on the day.”
