After an initially even start, Risborough seized control of the game when a poor back pass was pounced upon by Martin Griggs who rounded the goalkeeper and tapped home before the same man converted a spot-kick after Crawley’s Mark Smith was dismissed for a bringing down Sam Ward.

Griggs then had his hat-trick when superbly volleying home from 25 yards to end a dream first half.

Crawley enjoyed their best period after half-time but some fine goalkeeping from Jack Brooker kept them at bay and kept Risborough in control.

On 52 minutes, the home side added a fourth and once again it was Griggs who was on target, nodding in Vincenzo Greco’s cross, before Griggs turned provider to tee up Ward for a fifth.

The sixth and final goal came 10 minutes from time when Ward skipped past a defender and beat the away goalkeeper, although it could have been more as Jamie Shrimpton had an effort well saved before Griggs cracked a thunderbolt against the crossbar.

Risborough’s unbeaten run now stands at 15 games with this win moving them up to fifth in SSML Division One.

Rangers play twice over the next week, first going to Hillingdon on Saturday before visiting Southall next week. Both are league games.
