Aylesbury’s pre-season preparations continued in positive style when they beat Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division side Dunstable Town 2-1 at Creasey Park on Tuesday.

Town’s side featured two ex-Ducks in Zack Reynolds and Chris Marsh, and it was the latter who drew goalkeeper Dan Green’s best save in the first half.

But before that, and after just four minutes, Taylor Collins latched onto a through ball to slot home for an early Aylesbury advantage.

Dunstable also had a goal disallowed before United doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time when Eoin Casey cleverly hooked home.

Several substitutions for both sides in the second half opened the game up as Dunstable pulled a goal back via a wicked deflection, but the Ducks held out for the win.

Aylesbury United have also learned their fixtures for the 2015/16 Division One Central season. They

will kick-off their campaign with a trip to Potters Bar Town on Saturday, August 8, which is followed four days later by their first game at their new home – Thame United’s ASM Stadium – with Bedford Town the visitors.

Aylesbury FC begin with a home fixture as they welcome Egham to Haywood Way on August 8 before playing two away games, first at Chalfont St Peter (August 11) and then Arlesey Town (August 15).

The two Aylesbury sides will meet early with the Ducks to host the first derby on Monday, August 31, before FC welcome their rivals for the reverse fixture on Boxing Day.

The Red Insure Cup draws have also been made. Aylesbury United will make a long trip to Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division side Redditch United in the first round on October 12, while FC face an equally tough task at Hitchin Town in the preliminary round on September 7.

This weekend, United visit AFC Kempston Rovers and FC are at Thame United.
